We couldn’t rock a series of Halloween music without including Halloween’s most recognizable hit, so today we’re sharing our favorite remixes of Michael Jackson’s classic, “Thriller” plus one very cool bonus mp3.
From electro to funky house to mash up to transitions to future disco sounds, we’re attempting to cover the whole spectrum with this post, so be sure to let us know how we did! Now let’s get started!
Producers take note: sometimes you’ve just gotta let the song play, and this remix does a good job of keeping the vibe of the original version. If you get a ton of requests Saturday night for this song, then this is the version you want – definite what the ladies want to hear!
Nineties house… vintage funk… electro-y cuts… Louis does a good job of maintaining too but definitely provides enough of his own sound to make this way more than “just” a remake.
This remix is ideal for you funky house technicians. This vocal house remix is right on for Halloween house sets but probably won’t work in your typical Top 40/Mainstream club environment.
I’m a big fan of Discotech and if you’re going to save Thriller for the end of the night, then their remix is exactly what you’ll want to use. This is a chill version of the original with modern beats and bass for relevancy in the club – perfect for a last song.
This remix is night and day from Discotech’s version. Alex Dreamz does a nice job of mashing the original with Laidback Luke’s electro version of a couple years ago. I’ll definitely drop this version at least once this weekend.
Had to throw this one in even though it doesn’t exactly fit the theme of the blog. For you open format deejays, you could use this transition to flow into one of the harder hitting remixes above. Its your call!
