Today’s Halloween hook up theme is Monster Mash because the Mash is a classic and you know you want to hear it. “Monster Mash” is a 1962 novelty song and the best-known song by Bobby “Boris” Pickett. Its been given the remix treatment several times and I’ve never really been terribly impressed, but today I’ve managed to find two fairly decent remixes of the Halloween pop music standard, plus I’m throwing in two phat MONSTER tracks for your sampling pleasure.
Just so you know, I’m only planning a couple more days of Halloween music to be followed by a massive to do list for St. Louis Halloween events. So if you’re throwing an electro-themed or inspired Halloween event in the Lou, then let me know. Now on with the Mash… I really like the Hired Goons version of Monster Mash with its wobbly bassline, but the DJ Greg J version will play well to a more mainstream crowd. Of course, electro indie fans can’t go wrong with MSTRKRFT and that Monster House remix will light up the raver in you.
