Our list of the blogs to bookmark - these top nine blogs consistently provide great content and awesome downloads. Make it your New Year's resolution to add these blogs to your RSS Reader.

Here we are back again with our list of Top Clubbin’ Blogs. Last year, we rocked the Top 8. This year we’re going to bump it up to nine and kill the honorable mentions. I’m not going to lie, the selection process has been a challenge. You’ll notice right away some big names missing from this year’s list, but I’m not here to kiss ass. As a deejay and blogger, the blogs represented here are the Crème de la Crème. They always provide new, fresh, interesting content, and of course, you can count on these blogs for the latest dancefloor bangers.

#9 Sparty Tunes
We were introduced to Sparty Tunes earlier this year, and we think they are on the right path… good music… good content. I look forward to watching these guys continue to grow in 2010.

#8 Baltimore Club
Netherlands Stand Up! Representin from over seas, this blog takes Baltimore Club to the masses. Before Bart started his blog, finding good Baltimore Club music was a matter of trying your luck on obscure forums. You know how difficult forum searching can be, but not any longer. Big ups Bart!

#7 Digital Eargasm
Last year’s #1 dropped in this year’s list, but that’s not to say Darryl Von Rokk doesn’t deserve massive props! Darryl consistently favors quality over quantity and that’s hard to do in the blogosphere when you’re trying to keep the posts coming. This blog is highly recommended.

#6 Salacious Sound
This is one of those blogs I just stumbled upon and I was immediately hooked. I’ve been reading ever since. Salacious is a local music blog (based out of Toronto) for an international scene. Can’t wait to get up to Toronto and party with these guys!

#5 Three One Oh!
Another newcomer to the list, 310 Electro is a fav, but they’ve been slacking recently. At least, I hope that they’ve been slacking as opposed to being clipped by Bad Google. This Blogspot blog is a definite must bookmark for fans of electro music.

#4 D Squared
Girl meets beats and we likey. Dani Deahl is solid. She’s had her ups and downs this year (server problems, lost posts, etc) but she’s battled through and we think DSquared is top notch. Fans of artistic photography will definitely appreciate, so make sure you actually visit and don’t just bookmark and download.

#3 Missing Toof
Last year’s rant is back with a vengeance. In case you gave up on these guys (like we almost did), write this down: Missing Toof is back! Nuff said.

#2 Stoney Roads
Our favorite chaps from Australia continue to rock our world. We really appreciate the site for its originality, and its hard to go a day without checking in on these fools halfway across the world. These guys also have an interactive Twitter account, so go follow them.

#1 White Folks Get Crunk
We didn’t forget about you Juicy. Definitely deserving of the top spot – if you don’t know WFGC, then you just don’t know.

Seems like all the blogs are doing their thang this week with year-end “Top Of” posts but since I haven’t been blogging a full year yet, it wouldn’t be kosher to present a Top Songs of 2008 list. Instead, I’ll present you my undeniable, right on, you can’t argue with this shit: Top 8 Clubbin’ Blogs of 2008!

Top 8 Clubbin’ Blogs of 2008

#8 – Outrageous! @ outrageoushousemusic.blogspot.com
Outrageous! makes it into the top eight by squeezing past our honorable mentions. Its a nice blog with good potential. I’ve been reading music blogs a lot longer than I’ve been writing for one, and I’d love to see these guys continue to do their thang in 2009.

Honorable Mentions: Sundtrak, Redthreat, Dino Roc

#7 – Remix Land @ remixland.blogspot.com
I actually almost left Remix Land out of the top eight because their music selection has been off the latter part of this year, but even though I opted to post them in the seven spot because they have a solid track record of providing a shit ton of music for us to sample and I’m looking forward to hearing what’s in store from their new cast of resident deejays/writers.

#6 – Palms Out Sounds @ palmsout.blogspot.com
When you think of Palms Out you envision blogging’s supreme perennial super power, but even super powers lose their standing when Bad Google steps in. The Palms Out crew has steadily gone downhill for the last several months, but don’t blame all of this on the absence of Remix Sunday. Here’s to hoping they’ll be back on top in 2009.

#5 – Crux Da House @ cruxdahouse.blogspot.com
I would have never imagined throwing a record label on this chart (and in the Top 5), but that’s exactly what I’m doing with Crux Da House. These fellas know how to connect business with pleasure, and they’re doing a damn good job. Introducing Crux Blanc to the mix was massive and I hope other labels follow suit in 2009.

#4 – Stoney Roads @ www.stoneyroads.com
The Aussies at Stoney Roads have an ear for cutting edge music, and I always check their blog to see what’s on the horizon. If you ever wondered what blog house is (and didn’t get a chance to read the wiki), these guys represent the forefront of the movement as I see it… (blog house is electronic dance music made popular by wide acceptance and praise in the blogs) These guys are at the top of the food chain, i.e. a Stoney Roads endorsement is gold.

# 3 – d squared @ www.danideahl.com/wordpress
Sassy lil Dani Deahl out of the Windy City is good doing d squared. I’ve never heard her spin, but I’m sure I would enjoy her show because I absolutely love about 99% of what she posts on her blog. I’m also a big fan of the photography she posts. If you’re an artsy edm lover like me, you’ll love d squared.

#2 – White Folks Get Crunk @ www.whitefolksgetcrunk.com
DJ Real Juicy comes in second but not for lack of effort. It was a real close call. If you’re familiar with White Folks Get Crunk, then you know DJ Real Juicy posts some of the industry’s hottest hip hop and r&b remixed with an electro sound. I appreciate the crossover, and I look forward to welcoming DJ Real Juicy to the Lou real soon.

Top Clubbin’ Blog of 2008

#1 – Digital Eargasm @ digitaleargasm.blogspot.com
The best spot on the web, IMHO, for electronic dance music is Digital Eargasm. Darryl Von Rock of Maine runs the hottest blog under the sun this year. With a nice and simple theme, he doesn’t disappoint. Nice music selection, relevant content, and newsworthy posts. I particularly enjoy checking Digital Eargasm on a daily basis because I know they don’t overpost (post just to post) or try to fool you by uploading a bunch of shitty music… they’ve definitely got the whole “quality over quanity with plenty to choose from” on lockdown. That’s why they are king of the hill in 08.

My 2008 rant of the year: WTF happened to Missing Toof? They posted a comment a while back stating they’d be back in a bit, but that was ages ago. Like I said… WTF?

To bring Big Monday to a close, I wanted to share with you a recent list of the 100 Best Dance Tracks Ever as chosen by listeners of Belgium’s most popular electro radio show, “Switch.” There is definitely a European flair to the list. From an American perspective, I would rank songs like “Around the World,” “Kernkraft 400,” and “Show Me Love” much higher, but all in all, its a nice list. Here’s the top ten…

#01 – underworld – born slippy
#02 – laurent garnier – the man with the red face
#03 – chemical brothers – hey boy hey girl
#04 – faithless – insomnia
#05 – daft punk – around the world
#06 – vitalic – la rock 01
#07 – jaydee – plastic dreams
#08 – new order – blue monday
#09 – prodigy – no good (start the dance)
#10 – justice vs simian – never be alone

I find it interesting Tiesto is no where to be found on the Top 100. Does that mean he’s a little overrated? I dunno…

Check out Studio Brussel for the full list.

A couple weeks ago I was hyped about bringing you my Inaugural Top Ten, but after a few days, the novelty wore off and the post (idea) lost my interest. I felt in order to maintain an interesting blog (week after week), I should provide readers with new and interesting information… not the same ole same ole.

So rather than bore you with ten songs any cracker off the street could tell you are hot, I’m going to throw out ten hits you won’t hear on St. Louis radio. This post goes out to my fellow deejays. If you’re in the business to tear up the dancefloor, take a look at this list and make sure you’ve got these mixes in your crate. This is what its all about!

#10 Zero Machine – Le Castle Vania
#09 UFO (JustDima Vox Remix) – Sneaky Sound System
#08 Rocky Raver – Herve
#07 Dopeboy (Neon Blak GT Edit) – Adam Tensta
#06 Gangsters & Models (Cobra Krames’ Start the Violence! Remix) – DJ Wool
#05 Embrace The Martian (Round Table Knights Remix) – Crookers ft. Kid Cudi
#04 Fruitsalad (Round Table Knights Remix) – Gameboy/Gamegirl
#03 Wearing My Rolex (Pirate Soundsystem Bassline Mix) – Wiley
#02 The Girls (Micky Slim’s Bomb Squad Mix) – Calvin Harris
Each Every other week I’ll share my definitive edm top ten list which may highlight newer music, solid classics, or even stuff you’ve never heard. The driving force behind the songs that make it on my list is simply these are the songs I play out. Some songs on the list will be specific remixes while others may be labeled as “Various Remixes.” I’m doing this because I have several versions of many songs, and even though I know I’m going to play a certain hit, I’m not necessarily sold on a particular remix yet.

Now, I realize this blog is going to have readers all across the globe, but my target audience resides in St. Louis, Missouri. Keep this in mind when reading the list (and before you think, “he’s still playing that?”). I anticipate criticism, but remember, we’re not N.Y. or Miami. All in all, the STL has made some great strides in recent years, and I’m proud to proclaim the 314 as my home. Now without further ado, here’s my top ten for the week of October 26.

10. Love Is Gone (Renaissance Blend) – David Guetta
09. World Is Mine (Various Remixes) – David Guetta
08. American Boy (Various Remixes) – Kanye West ft. Estelle
07. I Kissed A Girl (Various Remixes) – Katy Perry
06. So What (Tony Arzadon Reconstructed Mix/Renaissance Refix) – Pink
05. I Need A Miracle (Mike Polo Remix) – KLM Music ft. Coco
04. Sunglasses At Night (Club Mix) – Voodoo & Serano
03. The Girls (Various Remixes) – Calvin Harris
02. Just Dance (Various Remixes) – Lady Gaga
01. Everyone Nose (Various Remixes) – N.E.R.D.

This is stuff I’m pretty much guaranteed to play out. Looking at the finished copy, I’m thinking I might also start working on a up and coming artist/banger list for deejays looking for that next hit. Any ideas?

I want to start this project by recognizing some very hard-working EDM blogs. As a deejay, I spend a lot of time scouring the net for that next-generation heater or club banger, and blogs like these make my job easy and enjoyable.

MissingToof.com – These guys are always a step ahead when it comes to introducing downright magical electro. I never miss a post and you shouldn’t either.

Hot Biscuits – Another great electro site. These guys come from the Completely Useless By September part of the world, but we love them. After all, its the music that brings us together.

Stoney Roads – Like the aforementioned, these guys are dead on with their musical selections. I especially enjoy reading their blog because its a fun read. Everytime I visit, I learn something new. That’s dope!

Now, I’m off to compile my Blog Roll. See you soon!
