I haven’t completely decided how I’m going to organize posts yet. I definitely want to share music… new music, bangers, bootleg remixes, and throwbacks (to name a few possible categories) and I’d also like to introduce you to new styles of edm. Although, I’ll be the first to admit I am not an expert when it comes to electronic music classification, I do know what’s hot, moves a dancefloor, trendy, and even over-hyped and not club-worthy.
Today’s selection leans toward the pop end of the electrohouse spectrum, and I’m sure you’ll recognize some of the remixed lyrics.
Move That Thing (Extended Mix) – Elektronique
Did you know David Guetta, Dirty South, and Elektronique are officially classified as Tecktonik artists? That’s a fact, but Tecktonik isn’t actually a sub-genre of edm. Interestingly, Tecktonik is the name of a dance movement sweeping the electro world. It borrows heavily from elements of glowsticking, and hip hop dance moves including popping and locking, vogue and wacking.
Purchase Note: I searched deep within Google to try and locate an official site for Elektronique’s music, but all I could find were torrents and such. The fact is this song is brand-spanking new. It was released on October 10 through Ministry of Sound Germany. Unfortunately, the MOS site wasn’t helpful. If you know about an official home page or label site, please let me know.
