We’re starting something new here and along with it I’ll be hinting at a very important announcement. First things first though, we’re looking for writers. Pitch us your idea and you could win a permanent spot here to spread your voice among the blogosphere.

Now for the new… a format never done on this site but one that has been successfully applied elsewhere on blogs that we really respect. Its the “massive post” formula and to make it work for our schedule, we will commit to provide one massive post every other week…

It gets MASSIVE on the flip >>>

Best of 2009 electro blog
The year 2009 was our first full year as a blog, and we’ve made some great strides. I’m not going to bore you with the details, but I’ll let you know I’m very pleased with the number of new and repeat visitors to the site on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

This blog really took off at the end of last year with a post about my favorite Clubbin’ Blogs. I’m stoked to bring you the second edition of that list sometime tomorrow. For now, here’s a short recap of what’s all gone down this year.

Most Visited Blog Post = Jump Smokers – My Flow So Tight
Most Downloaded MP3 = Jump Smokers – My Flow So Tight (Extended Mix)
Most Popular Guest Post = Fidget House Sunday Skool
Hottest Mixtape = DJ Icey’s WMC Mixtape
Artist with the Most Press = Pitbull
DJ with the Most Press = Chew Fu
Craziest Event of the Year = Diplo at Wash U

Now You See It remix
I would have thought this would be everywhere by now since it was released a while back, but it hasn’t blown up yet so far as I can tell. Maybe it has something to do with all the heat Pitbull’s been bringing to the dance scene lately – for real – deejays just can’t keep up. ;) He’s definitely on to something, and you know we’ve been saying it since the birth of this blog – electro crunk is where its at! Unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of the Jump Smokers verse in this track, so I’ve cut it out of the versions I play live, but both the Blackline and ASV’s remixes are on point.
